What is made to measure non-woven wallpaper?
Non-woven wallpaper is made from a mix of cellulose and polyester fibres. This material is stronger than traditional paper wallpaper, does not tear while you work with it, and is dimensionally stable. That means it does not shrink or expand after hanging.
With made to measure non-woven wallpaper, the design is printed directly onto the non-woven backing with advanced latex printers. That brings a number of important advantages:

- Resolution: at least 150 dpi at the intended print size. A photo for a wall of 3 x 2.5 metres needs to be at least 17,700 x 14,750 pixels for optimum sharpness
- File format: JPEG, PNG or TIFF. The less compression, the better the result
- Colour profile: RGB (sRGB preferably). CMYK files are converted automatically
- Exposure: avoid heavily over or under exposed photographs, these are amplified at large sizes

How do you order made to measure wallpaper?
From wall to masterpiece in four steps
Step 01
Measure the wall
Measure the width and height of your wall in centimetres. Measure at several points, because walls are rarely completely straight. Always take the largest measurement. Do not include skirting or coving, but do measure the full height from floor to ceiling.
Step 02
Choose a design
Browse the wallpaper collection or the children’s wallpaper collection. You can also upload your own photograph. Unsure? Make use of the free simulation service to see the result on your own wall.
Step 03
Enter your dimensions and order
On the product page you enter the exact width and height of your wall. The online calculator shows the price straight away. You then order and pay through the webshop. Production starts as soon as your order comes in.
Step 04
Receive it and hang it

Hanging wallpaper: tips for made to measure non-woven
Non-woven is the most user friendly type of wallpaper there is. The technique differs from traditional paper wallpaper, and that is exactly what makes it easier. Here are the most important tips for a perfect result.
Preparing the wall
- Remove old wallpaper completely. Use a steamer or soak it with warm water and a drop of washing up liquid
- Fill cracks and holes with filler and sand smooth
- Prime the wall with wallpaper primer. This gives better adhesion and an evenly absorbent surface
- Let the primer dry for at least 24 hours before you start hanging
The hanging technique
The big difference from traditional wallpaper: with non-woven you apply the paste to the wall, not to the paper. That saves time (no soaking) and space (no pasting table needed).
- Apply non-woven wallpaper paste evenly to the wall with a roller, slightly wider than the first length
- Hang the first length from the top and let it fall. Start from a straight reference line
- Smooth the length from the middle outwards with a wallpaper brush or smoother
- Hang the next length tight against the previous one (not overlapping). The lengths are numbered
- Trim excess material top and bottom with a sharp knife along a straight edge or rule

A roll of standard non-woven wallpaper of 10 x 0.53 m (5.3 m2) costs on average 30 to 80 euros in a DIY store. For a wall of 7.5 m2 you need two rolls (with waste), which soon puts the total between 60 and 160 euros, but without made to measure sizing, without a unique design and with visible seams.
