Colorful made to measure: you decide where the join falls
The designs in this book repeat every two metres, which is what lets you fill a wall of any width. But a repeat also means joins, and on a wall of five and a half metres you get two of them. Whether they are invisible or the first thing you notice depends entirely on where they land: through the middle of a large photographic rose, or in the quiet background between two blooms.
We design these patterns ourselves and hold the original files, so we work that division out before anything is printed. On INK7290, the pink museum roses with the terra and celadon background, we place the joins between the flowers. On the room high watercolour blooms of INK7286 we do the same with the stems. You give us the wall width, we do the arithmetic.

Animal wallpaper made to measure: the animal stays in view
With animal wallpaper it comes down to one thing: is the animal in the place where you see it. If the fox disappears behind the sofa or the crane is cut in half by the door frame, the charm is gone. We draw our own patterns, so we can move each animal individually.
Tell us where your furniture will stand and we place the animals on the free stretches of wall. In a nursery we often put them at the child's eye level, which is lower than you would expect.

Black and white wallpaper made to measure: contrast you set yourself
Black and white is never only black and white. The difference between a soft grey pattern and a hard contrast decides whether a room feels calm or exciting. Because we manage our own designs, we adjust that contrast for your space.
In a hallway or a cloakroom a stronger contrast works well, in a bedroom usually a softer grey. Scale plays a part too: on a small wall we often set the motif slightly larger, so the image keeps its calm instead of turning into a fine grid.

Brick wallpaper made to measure: bricks at their real size
A brick wall only convinces when the size is right. A brick printed too small gives itself away as a print straight away. So we scale the design to your wall, which gives the bricks the same dimensions as real ones, even at a ceiling height of 2.60 or 3.20 metres.
The layout is not fixed either. We make sure the wall ends with a whole course of bricks at the top and the bottom instead of a thin sliver, and that the bond carries on neatly around a corner onto the adjoining wall.
The image is printed photorealistically on non-woven wallpaper, with enough relief in the photo to give depth. Papering several walls? Then have a look at the order in which to hang the strips.
Botanical wallpaper made to measure: leaves that grow around your windows
A botanical design lives on its build up: a branch that carries on, a leaf that falls across the seam. As soon as there is a window or a door in the wall, that becomes difficult with standard rolls. We design our patterns ourselves and lay them out again for each wall, so those openings are no longer a problem.
In practice we move leaves and branches away from the reveals, so you do not end up with half a stem in the corner of a window opening. We do the same around a switch, a radiator or a fitted cupboard: the image stays whole where you actually look.

A clean design forgives nothing. A graphic plane cut off halfway, or a strip that ends crooked, is the first thing you notice. We design every pattern ourselves, so we are not tied to a fixed roll width or a fixed repeat. The pattern is set to your wall, not the other way around.
You pass on the width and the height of the wall and we lay out the design so that it ends with the same shape on the left and on the right. Is there a door or a window in the wall? Then we shift the pattern so no half shape lands in the reveal.

Retro wallpaper made to measure: one wall is often enough
Retro designs are outspoken, and that is exactly the point. But a seventies pattern across four walls quickly becomes too much. Most customers pick one wall, and then you want the pattern on that wall to work from corner to corner.
We draw the patterns ourselves, so we divide the shapes so the wall ends with a whole shape on both sides. Want the pattern larger or more compact than in the photo? Then we scale it to your size. That way you get the look without the room shrinking.

Striped wallpaper made to measure: the stripe width shapes the room
A narrow stripe makes a room taller, a wide one makes it calmer. With standard wallpaper you get whatever width the manufacturer chose. We draw the stripes ourselves, so you get the width that suits your ceiling height.
Just as important is where the wall ends. We divide the stripes so a whole stripe sits on the left and on the right, rather than a random two centimetre remainder. If a vertical stripe carries on around a corner, we match both walls to each other.

Plain wallpaper made to measure: no pattern, so nothing to match
Plain wallpaper has one big advantage when hanging: there is no repeat, so there is nothing to match up. Every strip fits the next one, wherever you start. That makes plain the easiest choice for a large wall or a stairwell where measuring is awkward.
What we add is the size and the shade. We print per wall, so you are not left with a part roll and no seam falls in an unfortunate spot. And because we manage our own designs, we can match a colour to a pattern you are using on another wall.

Abstract wallpaper made to measure: the composition follows your wall
Abstract work has no top or bottom and no fixed centre, which is exactly why it shifts so well. We hold the original files for every design, because we make them ourselves. A brushstroke, a stain or a block of colour can move left, move right, or go up half a metre.
There is a practical reason for that. If a sofa, a sideboard or a bed goes against the wall, we let the quiet zone of the design land there and keep the accent free at eye level. That way you are not paying for a part of the design that disappears behind your furniture.

Bohemian designs are rich, and that is exactly the risk. On a large wall in a high room an exuberant pattern looks wonderful, but in a small hallway or a three metre bedroom the same design can start to feel cramped. Because we are the designer, we scale the pattern up or down for your space.
The build up is not fixed either. Would you like the busiest layer of the design behind the bed only, and the rest calmer? Then we move the elements so the centre of gravity falls where you want it, instead of wherever the repeat happens to put it.

Industrial wallpaper made to measure: texture without a visible repeat
With concrete, steel and weathered plaster, repetition is the enemy. The moment you spot the same crack or the same rust stain twice on one wall, the illusion is gone. We do not print in rolls with a fixed repeat but per wall, and we design the patterns ourselves, so the texture can run across the full width.
On a wide wall that means one continuous image instead of five identical strips. And if a striking detail still lands right on a seam or directly behind the television, we move it before anything goes to print.

Japandi wallpaper made to measure: minimal, so every line counts
The emptier a design, the more each element weighs. In Japandi there is sometimes only one branch or one line across an entire strip, and then its placement decides everything. We design in house, so we put that branch exactly where it belongs in your room.
That is not always the middle. Next to a window a motif often works better slightly off centre, and above a low sideboard you want it higher. Send us the measurements and the furniture and we lay the design out again.

Classic wallpaper made to measure: the ornament at the right height
With a classic design the scale of the ornament matters more than the colour. A damask motif printed too small looks restless, and too large makes the room feel smaller. Because we draw our own designs, we can match the ornament size to your ceiling height instead of to a standard roll.
That shows mainly at the top and the bottom. We lay out the design so a whole ornament sits at eye level, rather than half a border just above the skirting. If a fireplace, a door frame or a tall cabinet stands against the wall, we move the motif around it.

Country wallpaper made to measure: above the panelling too
Country wallpaper rarely goes on a bare wall from floor to ceiling. There is panelling below, a fireplace in the middle or a sloping roof above. That makes standard rolls awkward, because they always start at the bottom. We decide where the design starts, because we build the file per wall.
If there is panelling, we let the pattern begin exactly on top of it instead of disappearing behind it. With a sloping roof the upper edge follows the slope, so you do not cut a motif in half halfway up.

Scandinavian wallpaper made to measure: calm you can dose yourself
Scandinavian design is about leaving things out. That is precisely why the density of the pattern matters so much: the same drawing with a little more space between the elements feels immediately calmer. Because we make our own designs, we adjust that spacing for you instead of leaving you to pick whatever happens to be on the roll.
Do you like a motif but want it more restrained? Then we spread the elements further apart or scale them back. And if a low cabinet or a sofa stands against the wall, we move the drawing upwards so that you actually see it.

Wood look wallpaper made to measure: planks in the direction you want
With a wood look, the direction of the planks decides how a room reads. Vertical makes a space taller, horizontal makes it wider. On a standard roll the grain runs one way and that is that. We build the files ourselves, so we can turn the wood.
Plank width is not fixed either. Wide barn boards on a small wall quickly feel heavy, so there we set them narrower. And we make sure the wall ends with a whole plank at the top and the bottom, not a three centimetre sliver.

Concrete look wallpaper made to measure: one continuous wall, no repeat
Concrete and plaster have no pattern, only texture, and that is exactly why repetition stands out. Two identical clouds side by side and you can tell it is a print. We design our concrete looks ourselves and print them per wall, so the texture runs on in a single image from corner to corner.
Would you rather have the darkest shadow behind the television or the bed? Then we move it there. And if a seam lands in an unfortunate spot, we shift the strip division before anything is printed.

Jungle wallpaper made to measure: leaves at the right scale
A jungle design stands or falls on the size of the leaf. An eighty centimetre monstera leaf is beautiful in a living room and overwhelming in a cloakroom. We make the designs ourselves, so we scale the leaf down or up, exactly for the wall you have.
We adapt the build up too. Would you like more foliage at the bottom and air at the top? Then we move the planting. And if a door cuts through the wall, we make sure no half palm frond ends up in the reveal.

Geometric wallpaper made to measure: symmetry right into the corners
With a geometric pattern you spot a mistake from a metre away. If the wall ends with a whole diamond on the left and a quarter on the right, you keep looking at it. Standard rolls do not solve that, because they have no idea how wide your wall is. We do, because we only build the file after you have given us the measurements.
We centre the pattern on the wall so that both sides end with the same shape. If a wall is out of true or the ceiling slopes, we adjust the division to match instead of pushing the difference onto one strip.
