Does an induction protector fit every hob?
Almost always, because you set the size yourself. Measure the width and the depth of your cooktop and enter those, or take one of the presets if you have a standard size. A custom induction protector works just as well on a ceramic or vitroceramic hob, and even on a gas cooker with a flat plate underneath. If the surface is not flat, for instance with separate gas burners or pan supports, the cover will not sit stably and we would advise against it. Not sure about your measurements? Can you put a pan on the induction protector?
Not a pan that has just come off the heat. The induction protection is meant for the times you are not cooking: it protects the hob and doubles as a worktop. When you start cooking you take it off, exactly the way you would remove a placemat before putting a hot pan down. For cold and lukewarm items there is no objection at all, so use it as a serving board or to lay out your dishes without a second thought.
Is the protector heat resistant?
The material is heat and scratch resistant, so residual warmth from a cooking zone you have just switched off, or the heat of an oven underneath, does not bother it. That is something different from heat resistant in the sense of fireproof: do not place a hot pan, oven dish or glowing rack on it. Think of it as protection against the daily use of your kitchen, not as a trivet.
