What does the acoustic value (α) mean?
The α value indicates how much sound a panel absorbs, on a scale from 0 to 1. A bare, echoey room sits at 0, while 1 is comparable to an open window that all sound disappears into. A Basic panel has a value of 0.65 and therefore absorbs 65% of the sound, while a Premium panel reaches 0.9 thanks to an extra layer of acoustic material. That damping comes mainly from the long cotton fibres in recycled jeans, which absorb sound waves remarkably well. The absorption values have been established through certified research, so you know exactly what you're hanging on your wall.
